Panzano in Chianti Panzano is located at the highest point and almost exactly midway along the scenic Chiantigiana road from Florence to Siena. Parts of the original castle remain, incorporated into the church and also as an independent tower. Panzano is surrounded by prize-winning vineyards, including il Molino di Grace. There is a wonderful view out over the "conca d'oro", the "golden scallop", a south-facing basin lined with vines. Panzano is known for several popular food and wine festivals, and it has several restaurants and many agriturismi in the surrounding countryside.

Worth a visit.
